IPHONE 5 SUPER GLUED TO GROUND AT LEIDSEPLEIN, AMSTERDAM [VIDEO]
Days before the iPhone 5's release in the Netherlands, two jokesters in Amsterdam decided to have a little fun with a clever iPhone 5 prank that played on Apple fans' emotions.
Two pranksters from website iPhone5.nl superglued an iPhone 5 facedown onto a street in the middle of Leidseplein, a busy square in the center of Amsterdam, Yahoo! News reports. They positioned a hidden camera to capture the reactions, and needless to say, the results were hilarious.
Passersby who fell for the iPhone 5 prank attempted to snatch the device off the ground in a variety of ways. Some tried to pull at the phone before realizing it was glued to the street; others attempted to inconspicuously grab the phone without anyone seeing; and a few even got aggressive and began kicking and stomping on the device. Of course, others played along and took photos with the superglued phone.
The prank was not complete without a bit of self-promotion, however. The folks over at iPhone5.nl wrote on the sidewalk in chalk "order @ iphone.nl."

Love is said to be the fire of life that neither consumes nor purifies; but for 35-year-old Janeth Odehgbe, hers was a different case as she has been set on fire by her husband following disagreement over her collecting a cup of wine from another man during a party they both attended.
Recounting her ordeal in the hand of her 39-year-old husband, Mr Kehinde Adesanmoye, Janeth told Crime Alert that on September 11, 2012 around 10 pm, her husband poured petrol on her as she was preparing Indomie noodles for a customer and fire caught her immediately. She was nearly consumed by the fire but for passers-by that rescued her.

NO MORE RE-SIT EXAMS IN UNIVERSITIES – NUC
The National Universities Commission (NUC), the body charged with the responsibility of monitoring the activities of universities in the country, has banned the conduct of re-sit examinations in Nigerian universities.
The NUC, in a statement by its Chief Information Officer, Mrs Bukola Olatunji, in Abuja, on Wednesday, frowned on the discovery that some universities conduct supplementary examination for their students, in addition to regular semester examinations.
The commission therefore warned that the conduct of such examinations was in violation of extant rules and regulations, and urged all universities involved to stop the practice henceforth or face sanction.

FG BOWS, SUSPENDS N5000 NOTE ISSUE

FOLLOWING the outcry from Nigerians over the planned introduction of the N5,000 note, the Federal Government has confirmed it is stepping down the introduction of the note by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Presidential spokesman, Dr Reuben Abati who confirmed this last night said the move was to allow more enlightenment by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
HTC ANNOUNCES THEIR WINDOWS PHONE 8S
HTC has announced their mid-range play into the Windows Phone 8 marketplace. The Windows Phone 8S by HTC is a vibrant looking device that packs a punch of color to hopefully make it stand out on retail shelves. The design is supposed to resemble that of a pillow with a softly rounded back and a rectangle facing front.
The device packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core 1 GHz chipset, 512 MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, 1700 mAh battery, GPS, Beats Audio, 5 MP camera and Wi-Fi but the device, like the 8X, does not have NFC. The device also has a removable SD card, which does separate itself a bit from the 8X with its fixed 16 GB of storage.
Display-wise you are getting a 4.0-inch Super LCD panel with a WVGA resolution, coated with Gorilla Glass as you would expect . The device is also more particularly slim, coming in at 10.28mm although the curving should help to hide this.
Look for this device to hit retail shelves in early November, alongside the 8X, after the likely Windows Phone 8 announcements by Microsoft at the end of October on 150+ operators in 50+ countries.
